Candytuft 'Snow Surfer' (Iberis sp) is a huge improvement on an old gardening favorite. True to its name, it produces drifts of snow-white flowers that all but obscure the neat mound of glossy green foliage. Bursting into exuberant bloom in late spring, this tidy perennial is perfect for edging beds and borders or as an addition to mixed pot plantings. Once it has its roots established, it can tolerate dry spells with ease, but won't like constantly wet feet in winter. Other than a light trim to remove the spent flowers after blooming, Candytuft 'Snow Surfer' is maintenance-free.
