Willow Leaf Cotoneaster, Cotoneaster salicifolius 'Repens', grows and fills in with lush, finely textured prostrate branches. As a low growing, spreading shrub, it makes and excellent groundcover for embankments and cascades beautifully over retaining walls. White flower clusters emerge in spring and eventually give way to beautiful fall ornamental berries. The bright red fruit persists through winter and attracts birds. Willow Leaf Cotoneaster can tolerate a wide array of conditions and can be grown in full to part sun. Moderate in growth rate, it only needs very occasional pruning to maintain a decorative border.
