Veronica spicata 'Royal Candles' couldn't have been given a more apt name. Thick 'candles' of royal blue blooms rise regally above the green foliage, attracting a host of butterflies from summer to fall. You'll be attracted too. Feel free to cut some of the long-lasting blooms for flower arrangements. Speedwells like to grow in moist soils, but other than that, they aren't fussy. Plant them in groups to maximize visual impact, or plant them in containers and give them pride of place during their flowering season.
